Wisteria in watercolor

This week, i wanted to paint with almost just violets colors, so i paint a wisteria !

I just realised that i never painted this flower even though i love them. I have sketch some houses with wisteria in front of them. But i never used wisteria as the star of one painting. Well, let’s change this !

Sadly i don’t have any reference image to show you. I have to say that i painted this watercolor painting just from memory. And that’s a good thing because it allows me to be quite free and i don’t have to mimic a picture, but it can also be a problem because i can forget about important details.

Once again i’ve used the technique of masking with gouache that i love. I can’t get enough of it ! It feel so easy and right when i paint like that… The texture are really interesting and it’s so easy to paint a light subject on a dark background while keepind a lot of precision and fun ! But i promised i’ll do something different next week.
